Emily Chandler M.ED, CCC-SLP, BCABA

Speech & Language Pathologist

Emily L Chandler, M.Ed., CCC-SLP is a state licensed and certified speech and language pathologist with over 9 years of experience in a variety of settings. Emily earned her undergraduate degree and master’s degree in speech pathology from the communication sciences and disorders program at the University of Georgia. Emily began her career in the public school system where she developed a strong interest in the Autism Spectrum Disorders.

She advanced her career and education by taking coursework necessary for board certification in Applied Behavior Analysis. In addition, she achieved initial training as a behavior technician in the Language and Learning Clinic at the Marcus Autism Center with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. In February 2015, she achieved board certification in Applied Behavior Analysis.  Emily has also worked as a speech pathologist in the hospital setting, early intervention, and both private speech practice and home-based applied behavior analysis settings.

In addition, Emily is a graduate of the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association Leadership Development Program. She is a certified member of the American, Speech, Language and Hearing Association as well as the American Academy of Private Practice in Speech Pathology and Audiology. She is the multiple recipient of the ACE award, ASHA’s Award for Continuing Education.

She is a provider for the Integrated Listening Systems. Emily has received specialized training in oral-motor and feeding therapy with the Beckman Oral Motor Program, TalkTools Oral Motor Program, and Lori Overland Sensory-Motor Feeding Technique. Emily has also completed Level 1 training for P.R.O.M.P.T. certification. Emily has also attended Lindamood Bell Seeing Starstraining in addition to several other professional development courses.

Aisha  Al-Majed  M.A., CCC-SLP

Speech & Language Pathologist

Aisha Al-Majed, M.A., CCC-SLP is a state licensed and ASHA certified speech and language pathologist with over 10 years of experience. Aisha earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Communication Sciences and Disorders program at the University of Florida. She served the pediatric population in Asheville, North Carolina for eight years, treating children with articulation, phonological, and language disorders. In addition, Aisha created a reading program that provided assessment, therapy, and resources to children, with dyslexia and other reading delays, and their families. In 2013, Aisha relocated to the Atlanta area and continued to treat the pediatric, as well as the adult population.  She has worked with children and adults who have Autism, Down Syndrome, traumatic brain injuries, DiGeorge Syndrome, speech disorders, and receptive and/or expressive language disorders. Aisha is trained in Orton Gillingham,  the Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing Program for Reading, Spelling, and Speech (LiPS) and has completed a variety of continuing education courses in the following areas: dyslexia, preschool language, social communication disorders, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Apraxia.

Rebecca Pruitt M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech & Language Pathologist

Rebecca Pruitt, M.S., CCC-SLP is a state licensed and ASHA certified speech-language pathologist. Rebecca earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Georgia and she earned her Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorder from Armstrong State University. Rebecca has experience working with preschool, elementary, middle and high school aged clients. Rebecca is currently working full-time for Gwinnett County Public Schools. She has experience working with children with Articulation Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Significant Developmental Delays, Downs Syndrome, Intellectual Disabilities, Stuttering, and Receptive and Expressive Language Delays. Rebecca has worked at Chandler Speech and Language Services since 2016 and enjoys the ability to provide flexible and focused speech-language interventions.

Reneida Parker M.Ed., CCC-SLP

Speech & Language Pathologist

Reneida Parker, M.Ed., CCC-SLP, is a state licensed and ASHA certified speech-language pathologist.  Reneida earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Mercer University. She continued her education at Valdosta State University and earned her bachelor’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders and her Master’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Reneida has experience working with children with Apraxia, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Language Disorders, and Articulation Disorders. She also has experience working with Adults with Dementia, Aphasia, Voice disorders, and Dysphagia. Reneida has recently completed Level 1 training for P.R.O.M.P.T certification.  Reneida is excited to be a part of the team at Chandler Speech and Language Services!

Haley Jones M.Ed., CF-SLP 

Speech & Language Pathologist

Haley received her bachelor’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from the University of West Georgia, and then went on to complete her masters in Speech Language Pathology at the University of West Georgia. She is currently in her Clinical Fellowship year where she works full time as a school-based SLP in Gwinnett County. Haley has experience working with children with varying disorders such as Apraxia, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Language Disorders, and Articulation Disorders. She also has experience from her time in a Skilled Nursing Facility working with adults with dysphagia and cognitive deficits. Haley actually completed one of her internships in grad school at Chandler Speech and Language. It has been awesome having her return here part time ever since she graduated!

Kim Oros M.S., CCC-SLP 

Speech & Language Pathologist

Kim Oros, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a state licensed and ASHA certified speech and language pathologist with over 20 years of experience. She holds a Georgia Teaching Certificate in Speech-Language Impairments and is a recipient of ASHA’s ACE award for professional development. Kim earned her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Florida State University, where she was named Speech Language Pathology Graduate Student of the Year in 1997. After serving elementary-aged students in Florida, she relocated to Georgia, where she has worked as a full-time SLP with Gwinnett County Public Schools since 2002, serving students with a broad range of speech and language impairments from preschool-age through adolescents. She has experience working with children with Articulation Impairment, Phonological Processing Disorder, Receptive and Expressive Language Disorder, Fluency Impairment, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Significant Developmental Delays, Intellectual Disabilities, Verbal Apraxia, and more. Kim is a proud mother of four children, ranging in age from 6 to 19.  She strives to treat each of her clients the way she’d want her children to be treated – with love and respect. Kim is excited to be a part of the Chandler Speech family!

Tara B. Feddern, MSOT, OTR/L

Occupational Therapist

Tara received her Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences at the University of Georgia and her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Brenau University. In addition to her passion for working in outpatient pediatrics, Tara considers her clinical experiences in other settings profoundly impactful. She has worked with adult populations with developmental disabilities and with those with chronic mental illnesses. Tara also worked in the Hall County School System. She is an advocate for young adults requiring transition services into adulthood. Tara has studied the effects of Hippotherapy, co-writing The Predictive Validity of the Hippotherapy Evaluation and Assessment Tool, under advisor, Mary P. Shotwell, Ph.D., OT/L, FAOTA.   Prior to acquiring her MSOT degree, Tara’s work experience expands from designing spaces in pediatric hospitals to providing direct support in group homes for adults with intellectual disabilities. Tara remains vigilant reading the latest evidence-based literature regarding the sensory integration frame of reference, as well as the cognitive behavior therapy and mindfulness approaches. She pursues ongoing neurological education regarding Autism, Selective Mutism, Down syndrome and the Brain-Gut Connection. Tara is passionate about implementing the best practices while desiring to enrich lives, helping children achieve their maximum potential.   Outside of the clinic, Tara volunteers as a Sunday school teacher for elementary school-aged children, which she began in 2001. Tara has achieved an advanced brown belt in American Karate and is a very proud parent of 3 boys and 2 stepdaughters.

Courtney Speed, MSOT, OTR/L

Occupational Therapist

Courtney received her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2016. She then obtained her Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy from Brenau University in 2019. Her pediatric clinical education experience includes working with children with autism, learning disabilities, sensory processing difficulties, feeding difficulties (picky eaters), and fine/gross motor deficits. Courtney enjoys working with the pediatric population and hopes to make a difference in their lives, a difference they’ll carry on for a lifetime!

Janna Buchan, M.Ed., BCBA

Office Manager

Janna Buchan, M.Ed., BCBA, is the office manager. She takes care of appointments, scheduling, doctor referrals, records, and other daily office tasks. Janna earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders and a Master’s Degree in Multiple and Severe Disabilities, with a concentration in Autism, at Georgia State University. After teaching in public school for 5 years, she became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to provide applied behavior analysis to individuals with exceptionalities in order to help them achieve their goals and independence. Janna has over 8 years of experience working with children who have a variety of diagnoses, including (but not limited to): autism spectrum disorder, ADHD/ADD, Down syndrome, epilepsy, and cerebral palsy. Janna is so excited to be a part of the Chandler Speech and Language family!

Michelle Tippens

Marketing Specialist/Office Assistant

Michelle Tippens earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Linguistics from Emory University. While completing her undergraduate degree, Michelle worked as the Social Media Management Intern for Emory’s Career Center. She is currently in the process of applying to graduate school for Speech Language Pathology. She is excited to bring together her two interests, marketing and SLP, as a part of the team at Chandler Speech and Language Services!

Charlotte

Office Celebrity

Charlotte, the queen of all guinea pigs, joined the Chandler team back in 2018. Her favorite snacks include lettuce, carrots, strawberries, and hay. When she’s not eating, Charlotte enjoys visits from the kids at the office, as well as gentle pets on her nose.
